Tommy was great he got my car in immediately it needed a new transmission ,he got me a great deal on the price. Tommy took care of many other issues that needed attention and he was great at working out a very fair price for all the work they did. I was also very pleased with how fast they got the work done since I only have the one car which I share with my daughter. I will definitely be going back there and telling friends and family about there great service.

My car broke down near my work and I was able to find this autobody shop nearby. They towed my car and next day told me the problem was with the starter. I asked them to extend me a courtesy of bringing in the replacement part and they can just charge me for the labor. The shop may have taken at most 30 mins to replace my starter as I stopped by the shop a few times from my work location but they act without any integrity and inflate the number of hours they spend on the car. I saw that they just used a jack to lift one corner of the car just enough so that someone can go underneath to make the replacement and as soon as that was done they mechanics were put to work on the other cars. I felt right from the get-go that the shop was not giving my car the quality attention that it needs. The owner Tommy spoke to me briefly that the starter ground wire burned out. After the replacement the car would start but the engine would not turnover. They used the computer which gave some indication for my throttle body. I again asked the shop if I could bring them the part and they could charge me for labor because they would double or triple the price of the market rate of the part. They were quoting me $600 for Hitachi Throttle body because their system told them so. I guess they never heard of google. I was able to get the same Throttle body they showed me from autozone but my car engine still would not turn over. I looked to them for direction as they were the expert and they kept saying the aftermarket throttle body must be bad to get them another. They made me try 2 aftermarket Hitachi Throttle bodies, and 1 OEM remanufactured throttle body. Even for the OEM remanufactured, I personally had to call the dealership that they deal with to get pricing for the remanufactured throttlebody. When I left it up to the shop to find the part they would only quote me the price of a new throttle body when the remanufactured throttle body was perfectly fine. After trying 3 throttle bodies and the shop not taking time to really give my car the attention it needed, they finally had no choice but to look more carefully at the car the 4th time only to realize that I had a few burnt wires that they could just replace. I called them Monday (after 1 week of not having my car) at 2:13 pm and the guy Bob tells me they may have figured out the problem with my car and he will keep me updated. He calls me at 2:47 p.m. and tells me that the wiring was the problem and all the instances of them telling me to get a new throttle body was not needed. He even went so far ahead as to putting my old throttle body into my car. Additionally he added the total work took them 6.5 hours because he is charging me 3.5 hours of the number of times he had to replace the throttle body due to their incompetence of properly diagnosing the problem. In addition, before Bob fixed the problem with my wires he never got authorization or went over the estimated cost of doing that work. When I discussed this issue of them charging me for 3.5 hours of labor of work I did not need (throttle body replacement) because of their incompetence they threatened to put a lien on my car. There are a some good reviews about the shop and that initially made me feel I would get good service but I was very wrong as this job tries to extend you small favors (such as waiving the towing cost) but then inflate their labor hours to make that money back two-fold. Although I do not have any hard evidence as I felt the shop may be racist as they always treated Caucasian folks in a friendlier manner than me. When I was trying to have a conversation and trying to understand why so much labor is required they would literally tell me they don t have time to explain anything to me, and hung up the phone. I contested the process through the Department of Motor Vehicles and they awarded me compensation back form the auto repair shop. I encourage anyone who got ripped off from this or any other auto repair shop to go through the VS-35 Complaint report process.

When I first moved to Bethpage, a friend of mine, recommended TomCo auto repairs. I took his advice and I ve become a lifetime customer. Not only is the work well done and competitively priced, but the best part is that I can feel confident that he is not taking advantage of me, and is honest. I d like to pay this forward and recommend TomCo.

this started out as a positive business relationship and ended really poorly. i had one good experience here (if you consider replacing an entire engine on a 2018 car, "good") and felt it was important people knew i received good service. i am updating my review to reflect the experiences that followed.over the past 6 months, i have given this shop over $8k to replace an engine, a starter, a battery, shocks, brakes.. you name it. i brought it in about two months ago because the car kept not starting. i was told i needed a new battery and starter, both of which i paid to replace. three weeks later, the car wouldn't start AGAIN. i brought it back in and was then told that a wire that connected to the starter (that they installed three weeks earlier) had fallen out and had to be plugged back in. they told me it would cost $178 for an hour of labor. when i pointed out the fact that they did the installation of the starter, i was told, "that was 2500 miles ago, anything could've happened between now and then". what?? i found this to be really poor customer service considering they were the ones who did the install less than a month prior and it should've been fixed for free. nevertheless, we agreed upon $100 even to get the bill settled. ONE WEEK LATER my car won't start AGAIN. this time i brought it to a new mechanic who is a trusted friend of someone i know. he did diagnostics and told me that the wire was installed totally negligently and carelessly and he had to re-do all of their work. he assured me that this won't happen again and charged me $50 including a tow/diagnostics/labor.i really wanted to love tomco but i feel like they totally betrayed the faith and trust that i put in them to get the job done honestly, correctly and fairly and took advantage of a single woman literally running through my savings to keep a relatively NEW car on the road and functioning properly.really disappointed & won't be returning.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I brought my car to Tomco and the staff and service here is great! They got my car looked at fast while I waited and fixed. I can t say enough good things about Tomco. I had never had an issue passing inspection in the previous 10 years I've owned this vehicle. Then I brought my vehicle in during inspection time 2 years in a row to Tomco. First year they failed me because of a windshield wiper leaving a streak and I had to pay $30 for a new pair because the inspection sticker was expiring that day. Second year I brought it in 6 days before inspection expired and they fail me for "rear brake caliper frozen". They also promptly removed my inspection sticker from my windshield despite my arguing against it being the actual rule or law.EDIT>> The owner reached out to me and explained he watched some video and there were mistakes made and he would see to it that they are corrected going forward. As long as this type of thing doesn't happen to anyone else in the future, I am satisfied.

This place is a lifesaver!!!! I ve never had such exceptional customer service and not just at a car place but in general! Tommy the owner is hands down the best in the business. Tommy is kind, professional, and insanely helpful. I needed a new car and fast and within less than a week he found me a great used car at an amazing price. I thought I was going to struggle but Tommy took all my worries away and was SO responsive and knowledgeable well doing it. I can t say enough great things about this place. I ve been using TOMCO for oil changes, inspections, and flat tires due to the convenience in respect to my job. Tommy and his entire staff have always been accommodating and professional. Recently, I needed body work in my truck and Tommy took the time to explain the work needed and the cost involved. He also loaned me a car while he was servicing my truck. The work was done beautifully and my truck was returned after a detail cleaning. Needless to say the service was top notch. I was recommended to Tomco by several people and I'm glad I was. Tommy the owner and his whole staff are professional caring people. I needed a lot of work on my car and everything was explained in detail and was sold nothing that wasn't needed. They do quality work and use the best parts. I purchased a 1971 Mustang convertible from Tomco Auto . Tom and Bob made the transaction smooth and easy. Tom told me if I did not want the car for any reason he would return my payment. I returned today to get an oil change and inspection, his staff was very professional. I was able to check out the car myself while it was on the lift. I will be using this shop for all my vehicles. Went in for brake repair. Called early in the morning dropped off my car. Was given a ride back to my home, work was done fast and really well. Called with the price and got my car back the same day.Tom was great. Friendly. Did an excellent job on my Ford Fusion. Would definitely go back to have my car serviced by him anytime.

I started using Tomco in the late 90's when they serviced just my car. I now use them for all of my family vehicles. When you find a mechanic that you trust, you stick with him. And I trust Tommy to diagnose and explain to me what needs to be done, as well as telling me what can hold off until he sees my car for its next oil change. Window regulator was broken. Other shops refused to service my car or even look at it without charging me an arm and a leg. Tommy was straight to the point, told me what was wrong and got it fixed within the hour.Super nice, honest guy. What an awesome experience! Huge shout out to Tom (Owner of TOMCO Auto Repair). I was in the market for several months trying to find a safe, reliable SUV for my daughter. Thanks to timing and Tom, I found just that. Exceptional customer service and most of all honest. I will be recommending TOMCO to all my family and friends. Tom, Bob and the rest of the guys there went out of their way to make sure my car was as good as can be before they returned it to me - at no extra cost! I d like to compliment the staff at Tomco Auto Repair for the superior service they provided when pricing and installing my engine, they were exceptional.I can tell you with the prospect of having to spend hundreds of dollars, according to estimates I d received elsewhere, was a dim one. Thankfully my friend recommended Tomco and after meeting the owner Tom, I decided to opt for Tomco. The mechanics fixed my automobile within the two(2) Day timeframe given, they removed and installed my engine in the 2 days, the staff showed great professionalism which exceeded my expectations.I am highly pleased with the professional manner in which the staff at Tomco serviced my automobile. Tomco has definitely gained a new customer for life, who will refer all of her friends to Tomco Auto Repair and Towing

I recommend Tomco to anyone having car issues or in need of a simple oil change. My car knowledge is very little and Tommy and the others at Tomco always explain to me what is going on. Prior to coming to Tomco, I took my car to another place for an oil change and they claimed I had so many issues. I left and brought it to Tomco and they did not mention any of those issues. You can TRUST Tomco and will not be ripped off. Prices are very reasonable, as well. Also, I always wait for my car during an oil change. They are very prompt and make sure you are taken care of. Great and helpful people working here! :)My car battery died after I came back from soccer practice. I called them and they arrived fast. They did not charge me for road assistance and only did for the battery change. Loosing air in my right rear tire. Never happened to me before. Freaking out I called Tomco and they told me not to worry, they are there for me. They repaired the tire and checked the other tires filling them with air. Also took a once-over look underneath at no charge. This was the second time I brought my car in and I felt like I was getting the family discount. I can't say enough about the Tomco staff, it's refreshing to know that you can bring your car in for service without the fear of being ripped off.

I was out shopping for my first car for a couple of months. Tom is by the far the nicest salesman I ve come across. He was honest and fair with the pricing of the car I was looking at. Offered to fix whatever I wanted fixed with no questions. I m so pleased with the customer service and quality of cars. Highly recommend to anyone looking to purchase a used car.

I have known Bob & Tom for years. They run an absolute top notch, professional operation. Just today I brought in my Escape with an exhaust leak close to the engine. Bob called within an hour verifying the problem, the solution, total cost and when it would be ready. But this is what they always do: They assess the problem quickly (and correctly all the time) & inform you of the estimate. They have top notch mechanics who do quality work. Bob & Tom are there to supervise, confirm & advise their clients. They are very professional & courteous. Great to know we have a shop in the neighborhood that is trustworthy and does quality work.Keep up the great work guys!

I visited Tomco more out of desperation as I had a nail in my tire and it being Thanksgiving weekend, I was in a bind. Since I have a new car, normally the dealer handles it as part of their basic care, but for work not covered, I have used other mechanics in Bethpage since they are closer and I can walk. Having said that, I was quite pleased with customer service they not only provided me, but every other guest. Yes, I had a very simple issue, but they treated me very kindly and were super fair and honest that I will now start to go here for mechanical work not covered by my car dealer.

I have a 2013 Hyundai Tuscan that TomCo has been servicing from the beginning. With every car once it goes over 50000 miles you need to put some money into it for normal wear and tear. Bob helped me with this. We prioritized and did a full service in 2 visits. My car went from feeling like a car getting old to a car feeling like brand new. No more squeaks. No more hesitation. Just a smooth ride. I 100% recommend anyone to bring their cars to TomCo. They are professional. They do a great job. And most important they are honest. 5 stars for TomCo. Thanks guys for keeping my car in tip top shape.

Very friendly and professional! They were able to detect several issues with my car, and initially I was nervous that I would get ripped off, but after leaving Tomco my car drove more smoothly and sounded much better. Would definitely recommend.
