This was our first experience at Cottonwood and exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were clean and the service provided from the staff was amazing. They set us up with a guide and we spent the day on Big Horn, which was a quick drive. At night, the campfire and horseshoe pit were great added touches. We also spent a day on the lake, which was amazing! I would definitely come back as the staff goes out of their way to make sure you have a great experience.

My friend and I LOVE Cottonwood Camp! It is our "go-to" for fly fishing on the Big Horn. Jacoby is top shelf. We met a guide there who has become a new life friend. Paul is a cheerful and capable worker. The cotton wood trees are stunning! We always camp in the tent area, and will return there again next summer! Our "fave" place out west!!!

We came back here after many years to fish the Big Horn River and stayed at the Cottonwood Camp Grounds. The campground has changed ownership since our last visit. We were pleasantly surprised that we were met in the driveway by a young man (Paul), who knew our name, introduced himself and took us to our camping spot. We met with the manager, Sgt. Jacoby, and over the next few days, talked with him at length. We were very impressed by the way he managed the camp grounds and interacted with the clients. Our conversations were very enjoyable and we look forward to our next visit.

I must preface this review with the fact that Cottonwood camp is a fantastic camp ground with RV power and water, cabins, and fly shop. World class fishing and recreation in both directions. However, that is not what my review is about. I limped my camper into camp on three wheels as I had lost a hub on my trip there. We were able to setup and enjoy our trip. When I explained my situation to the staff they were not only understanding, but sympathetic. They went out of their way to help me and my family get our equipment back in working order and home safe. The amenities are nice, but the character of the owners and staff are exemplary. True Montana character. You will not be disappointed.

They are really working hard to update and improve Cottonwood. The new fly shop/store is greatly improved especially. I don t rent the cabins, I tow a camping trailer in, so I can t comment about those. But what a great location.Nearby activities: Fly fishing the Bighorn!

I have been going to the Cottonwood Campground for fifteen years. The new staff and manage have made a huge difference in my experience there. We just finished three great days of fishing and stayed in the Acadia cabin. Great accommodations with all the comforts of home. Beds were comfortable and the new linens were very nice. The staff is very friendly and very willing to help even on off hours. The have customer service mentality and it shows. I look forward to my next trip!

Bathhouse is a little run down, but hey, it's a hot shower. The tents are top-notch, and the bed was amazing. Wood is provided, and the room is very clean! Would recommend it to anyone and will be coming back.Nearby activities: Right by three mile access for fishing on the Bighorn!

This is an excellent place to stay if you are serious about your fishing. I have been coming to the Cottonwood Camp for more than 20 years and always enjoy my stay. it's a bit on the rustic side but that's the way a fishing camp should be. Fish, eat, sleep, repeat - what more do you want? The camp recently changed owners and based on my interactions with them, they are committed to their clients' satisfaction. The staff of the Camp (especially Sgt. Jacoby) went out of their way to help, welcome, and meet my every need. This is a great place to stay when fishing the Bighorn and I highly recommend it.

Cottonwood camp is pretty awesome. It is very clean, green and camp sites are not too tight, great fishing spot. The camp hosts are super friendly and helpful. Rita is a sweetheart. We had lots of questions about the area with this being our first visit to the area. They were there to answer all our questions! We came here to see Little bighorn. It was only a 50 minute drive from Cottonwood camp. It seemed faster.Plenty to eat from fresh fish from the river, delicious bison steaks you can purchase in the fly shop and Tailwater Restaurant 10 minutes down the road.We had a great stay and are planning to return.

First and foremost what a amazing camp location. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was truly memorable. SGT Jacoby the on-site manager is truly a special individual that made us feel like family. He would personally check on us daily to make sure that we had no shortcomings. He was like our personal concierge lol. My family and left this place with a full heart and will have plenty of memorable memories that we will always cherish. We can t wait to come back! This is truly a hidden Gem . SGT Jacoby thank you and thank you for your service and for caring for our brother & sister at arms. Can t wait to come back.Dave & famNearby activities: The camp location less than a mile on some trophy trout catches.

Great guys that were very friendly. They even restocked the wood for us at the very end of the day with a smile! Great advise in the fly shop, and the views were beautiful. The boats are Hyde and in great condition. The bath room/showers were basic but clean, the water is HOT, which is really appreciated at the end of a long day of rowing. I'll be back again and again. Thanks Guys!

Year 23 at Cottonwood Camp on the Bighorn River in Montana. The ownship has changed multiple times over the years. Seems like the new owners are making some changes that will ensure the property remains in good shape for another generation of fly fishermen.

Every night about 10:00. Tonight included. music from the renters section started up and would last til about 11:00. We have never stayed in a campground that allowed this. That is why we stay in campgrounds so we don t have to deal with this. Very disappointing that they allow this. There actually wasn t that many people here. Two campers from Colstrip and one from Billings. Without us they would have been pretty empty.!
