This company is a joke. I rented with them for three years and then wanted to upgrade my unit they accidentally canceled my reservation for the new unit. Then they told me I could go online and make a new reservation for another unit. That was not comparable to the initial one booked for a price of $300 more per year than the reserved price. I contacted customer service and even the district manager asking them to honor the price that I reserved and that that they had mistakenly canceled no one helped me. Everyone s hands were tied. I find that really hard to believe.. if a company makes the mistake they should just remedy the mistake and honor the initial price. Not to mention that they have very suspicious rate increases that over the last year my rent in my current in Unit nearly doubled, and now they re renting a better larger unit for less money. They won t match that rate, but they will give me five dollars Off. What a racket!!!

This place would benefit from new management.I have been a resident here for over a year, primarily being in the outdoor units, but have also been a short time on the indoor units.To start, snow removal in the winter is very slow to happen. When every other business has their snow plowed, this place will not. I have often gotten stuck and had to shovel myself out several hours after snow storms.The cleanliness of the inside buildings can be improved. I have seen the same trash and dirt on the ground for weeks. It is still there since the time I moved to an indoor unit over a month ago. At the very least a sweep once every couple weeks would be useful. I have seen full carts of left behind things sit there for over a week at a time. This has reduced carts for these stretches where it is obvious these people are not coming back anytime soon.The access to your units may be restricted without notice. In the past month, we were given two vague notices saying they will be repaving the driveways and repainting the outside units. There were no exact dates tied to these events, so there was no knowing if/how access would be restricted. Never once was it said there would be no access to the units. I was able to luckily get in and out before the painters. I was not able to access my units when to my surprise I showed up and the entrance was blocked off. We were told there would still be "limited access" so I figured I could at least walk in where it wasn't being paved. I went to the office to find nobody there to help me. I called Public Storage customer support and was told there should be someone there and to leave a message. They also said that yes I should still be able to have access to my units as we were told there would be limited access. I called and left a message that was never responded to. I called the public storage support multiple times, but as they were not the property managers, they couldn't help me get in. Finally I called the office again and someone actually answered. I said I had been trying to get a hold of someone for over an hour and need access to my space. They said that won't happen. I explained they said there would be limited access and I was faced with annoying negative attitude by the employee. It was clear they were going to argue with me and I cut my losses and hung up.I would like this to be publicly recorded for others to read, and the only reason it isn't a 1 star is that I unfortunately will still have my stuff here as it is the most convenient location for my circumstances.Edit:I have been at several other public storage locations and have never had any of these problems anywhere else.

Michelle was excellent! She went above and beyond explaining the storage information and handling my account transfer. She followed up with me to make sure everything was taken care of.

This place while perhaps temp controlled in NOT moisture controlled. Our boxes, furniture, mattresses, etc are constantly moist from the floor. We can see this very clearly every time we move things around. So don t bring anything here that need to stay 100% dry. Also, they increased my bill from $131/mo to $177/mo for no reason.

Michelle is awesome. Helped me with my Minnetonka Tempe and Excelsior storage units. She also helped me to gain access to the Public Storage app. After three years of help from others, Michelle was the one that was successful.

I have been impressed with the excellent customer service, response time and mostly, the authentic kindness shown by the manager Michele at the Public Storage in Excelsior. She has gone above and beyond. Honestly, they are lucky to have her. I have used this Public Storage for several years now during moves out of state and back again, through Covid and winters. I am amazed Michele is always so steady, professional and loyal. Thank you Michele.

Update 2021 Michelle the property manager has been absolutely amazing! I have been here since 2014 and can only say a great experience. The new updated app and access is amazing. If I need storage again I will choose here.I think her name was Nicole and she made the process super easy. I ordered the space online and then within 10 minutes got a phone call. I met with her same day got my storage unit, lock and everything in my unit. Also she helped me sign up for automatic payments. Nice clean space with a security access gate. I signed up on March 30th and got an awesome deal. Thanks again for making everything so easy for me!

This is a great place for storage! I have stored stuff here at least three different times over the last 20 years. The current manager, Michelle, is great to work with. I had need of some emergency storage last September, and she really came through for us even though it was last minute. We had to get more than one unit, which Michelle took care of very gracefully. I just cleared the last one out last week, and Michelle was the one who checked me out of the unit. Great location, and always nice and dry.

Same great service! Michelle s service is always superb! The Public Storage in Shorewood is wonderful! The Customer service is excellent; Michelle knew exactly how to assist me with picking the storage unit size I needed. She explained the paperwork in detail with me, and outlined my insurance so that I understood exactly what I was getting from the very beginning! Whenever I had any questions, there was always someone knowledgeable in the office to assist me. The property is always clean and well kept. If I ever need to rent a storage unit again, I would come here, as I know I will be well taken care of!

I moved back to Minnesota from Los Angeles and working with Michelle has been awesome. She help me coordinate everything I needed for the unit and answered all the billing questions I had. This place looks secure and clean and I'm really happy with the unit that I rented. So far this is been a great experience. Thanks Michelle!

THANK YOU Michelle! My friend is moving back from VA to MN & was needing storage space. From the first conversation I had with Michelle she was so great to work with! She is awesome at her job! Very knowledgeable and also offered several tips for making the pack/move an easier one! If you live in the area & need storage space I highly recommend this location & working with Michelle, you wont be disappointed! Thanks again Michelle!

I have just taken another storage place here Two years ago I had two units at this location and I am going to move again so I needed a unit again. Michelle has always been a pleasure to work with, very helpful and pleasant and she still is. It is a tough customer service job and she does it very well.

AWESOME!! Our entire experience with Public Storage has been awesome! We received a call from Michelle within minutes of our voice reservation. When we met with her today she showed us an alternative unit even BETTER than our original choice! She and LaRonda walked us through procedures and paperwork. We are impressed and grateful, and are looking forward to moving in! Lea

Michelle did an amazing job..she went beyond n above her duty and provided amazing customer service..answered all my questions by giving acknowledgeable advice and she even had a trainee with her and could tell he was learning alot..they were both very nice and helped me load and unload..his name was Michael :-D

We have rented a storage unit for over a decade. Maybe two!Michelle has been such an angel throughout the years renting from PS - in Excelsior.She has always made sure that we were taken care of at all times. Whether, to make sure my account was on schedule and maybe a CC - needed a new update to checking on our unit to make sure everything was good.We may have shed a few tears when we finally moved our property to a storage unit up North.Thank you Michelle for always being such a great rep for PS.Wendy & Dean Villella

I had wonderful customer service today when I rented a unit from Public Storage off of highway 7. I was set up with Michelle and she had done a very thorough, efficient, and friendly meeting. I was in and out with the knowledge and materials I needed in a half hour. She even helped look into a cheaper and more efficient unit for us to use!

I had a wonderful experience yesterday at Shorewood Public Storage located at 19545 Hwy 7 when Michelle helped me update my credit card information for autopay. I recognized her right away as the same person who has helped me since the beginning when I first rented my unit five years ago. After completing the transaction, I asked about unit prices and was told that all info can be found on the website. But she offered to review my current rental rate w/o me asking, perhaps based on how long I have been renting. And she followed up this morning with the good news of a significant monthly rent decrease! I am thrilled and truly appreciate her proactive, customer first treatment. Her manager Brittney should be pleased and proud of Michelle s consistent friendly customer service.

If you store stuff over the winter this is what you can expect. This storm was bad but all winter long snow removal was sub par with snow always in front of doors.
