While roadtripping from Florida to Iowa, we had brake problems with our car. We called McKee's and they promptly sent a tow truck and got our vehicle in to figure out the issue. After several test drives to be sure the issue was resolved, we were back on the road. Prompt, courteous and friendly service! Would highly recommend McKee's for your car repair needs.

This shop is great! Brought them my truck which another mechanic had told me needed a water pump. Asked McKees if they could look it over to confirm. They worked my truck in quickly and told me the problem was a heater hose, fixed it quickly and I was done by lunch for MUCH less than I anticipated.A friend of mine was in town and got bad diesel in her truck. These wonderful people got her truck worked in quickly, saved her engine and had her out of there in just a few hours!Thank you all so much for being honest and full of integrity..Can't go wrong with Mc Kees!!I told everyone I know to use them

They replaced my alternator in my car I was told it would cost $ 550 ,and only take an hour to replace which both were lies they charged nearly $ 900 and had my car from 7 AM until nearly 3 PM. I highly doubt I would ever use them for car repairs again.

My van wouldn t start after a stop for gas on a road trip the Friday before Easter weekend. Got a tow to McKee s an hour before close and they replaced the starter in record time, even staying after hours to finish the job so we wouldn t be stuck all weekend. We were so grateful for their friendly and efficient service!Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

I was traveling yesterday after Thanksgiving from Georgia back home to Florida with my older mom, children and dog. We had transmission trouble and called McKee's because they had been a significant help to my parents with previous car trouble in the area. Von was AMAZING! It was a Sunday of the holiday weekend, and he met us at the shop to help evaluate the situation. He was quick, thorough and worked with me to figure out a way to safely ensure I got my family, all our stuff and my car back home. He was gracious and went above and beyond to help me. I don't write reviews, but he was so good to us, I could not let the opportunity pass without sharing this with others. I was a single woman traveling with my crew and I felt completely safe, protected and cared for like family. Thank you Von!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I m from out of town and was passing through S Ga at midnight when my water pump failed. A sheriff s deputy found me on the side of the road and gave me the number to McKees. Von answered the phone and picked me up in less than 20 minutes. He towed my truck and dropped me off at a motel. The water pump was fixed and Von picked me up at 10am. I couldn t ask for better service. They could have charged anything they wanted, but the price was more than fair. I would highly recommend this garage. They are very professional and super nice folks.Services: Engine repair, Car towing

While driving to Atlanta my car started losing power and my steering wheel started locking up. I was stuck partially in a median. I called around and McKee had the wheel lift tow truck needed to assist. In addition to having the needed truck available they also arrived in record time! Von was very professional and extremely efficient. If you re broken down on the side of the road right now googling places for help. Choose this one. I m so happy I found McKee s. My belt was replaced and vehicle ready the next day.Services: Special vehicle towing, Car towing

In March of 2017 I was on a trip from Michigan to Florida to pick up my wife and her mother to bring them back home. This was a medical emergency because my mother in-law had an issue that wouldn't allow her to take the flight home. I received the call and was on my way at 6pm and drove as far as I could, then slept for 2 hours, then continued my trip. After 950 mile of driving, I heard this noise that was sounded like a belt on one of my tires had went bad. I exited right away and pulled in to a gas station. I inspected the tires and they seemed perfectly fine. Then I thought it could be the wheel bearing and inspected those and that was definitely the issue. It was so bad that I wasn't sure it was driveable. I grabbed my phone and started looking up service centers on Yelp. McKee's was the 3rd place I called. I happen to speak with the owner and explained to him my situation and wondered how quickly they may be able to get me in. He said that they would squeeze me in now and would come tow me if needed. I ended up being able to drive there and they treated me with respect and made me feel like they cared about my situation. Since I was an out of towner and in an emergency type situation, I expected the price to be way more than it should be. It was a fair price, in fact, they gave me 10% off the labor. From the time I exited and then back on the expressway on my way again was 1 1/2 hours. I was amazed at how they dropped what they were doing to help me and went over an above to get me back on the road. I couldn't have been more thankful.

We are highly Impressed with your customer centric service. We were traveling from Auburn, Alabama to Tampa, FL towing a travel trailer with two kittens onboard. Firstly we were seen right away with our Chevy Trail Blazer engine overheating problem. Diagnosed leaking water pump and replaced. Happy. On the I-75 next day the overheating occurred again. Secondly, gratefully you came right away to tow the travel trailer back to the Tifton campground (at no charge) and replaced the engine thermostat and fan clutch (indicated on warning light). Repaired the next day when you had the parts in. Thirdly, agin thankfully you towed the travel trailer from the campground to your shop so we wouldn t incur another day s camping fee charge (also at no charge). But, the overheating turned out to be slight leak in head gasket only when towing, otherwise engine heat was normal. We certainly appreciated your prompt attention to our problem and we got back on the road home with the kittens while keeping the speed to 50 mph so as not to overheat. The trailblazer is running fine now within normal limits. We won t be towing anything with it in the future. Thanks again for your prompt, thoughtful and courteous attention in our time in need.Service: Engine repair

In August I took my girlfriends car into the shop because something was wrong with the battery. A day later I was told that the battery was bad and needed to be replaced for 230. So I came into get the car and they told me that they had to do an electrical diagnostics which costed 60 dollars. I paid the price and went to auto zone because just one month prior We had just purchased a battery. I go into auto zone and tell the man I bought the battery from that the battery died and wasn t sure what happened. So he goes out to the car and does a simple check. He tightened one of the battery terminals and the car comes back on. I was in shock because I paid 60 dollars for an electrical diagnostic and being told I needed a brand new battery when this man comes out and tightens one thing and the car just works again. I called back to the shop and asked to speak to a manager and was told that they were the only person available to talk so I told the employee that I was in shock that the man at autozone just tightened the terminal and the car worked when I paid for an electrical diagnostic.(when I picked up the car I had to jump start it because the battery was still dead ). She told me she would tell the manager to call me. Later that day I get a call saying that we were getting a refund because there s no need to make a big deal out of this. So that was that. But it s the fact that I was trying to be hustled. I ve been coming to this shop for a better part of a year and had spent over 4000 dollars of work done on another car. I used the same name and account as my car that I get serviced for my girlfriends car. It just scares me think about what I got done on my car and how much work it actually needed. But I can say the work I did get on my car was top of the line work. But sadly I can say that I will never be coming to this shop again. For fear of being scammed. I should have posted this when it happened but I ve been thinking about it for a while. Take these things in account if you pick this shop.Service: Auto engine tuning

We were on our way, starting our vacation to go see the eclipse, we stopped in Tifton to get a bite to eat and noticed that my car was running funny. I stopped at a mechanic they said it was a minimum three-hour job for a busted water pump and that they had no availability, also it being Friday everything would be closed till Monday, that mechanic called a couple other mechanics, everyone said they were too booked. Then I called McKee's he said he was really busy too but that he would do it, we were so relieved. I can't thank Von and crew enough for granting us the ability to have are great and safe vacation and awesome solar eclipse experience!

I can t say enough great things about McKee. This guys truly a life saver. When no one else in a 100 mile radius would tow my car to Atlanta (180 mile trip) at 11pm, McKee was there in less than an hour! I had almost given up after searching for 3 hours. You won t find someone near as nice and hardworking! Look no further if you re in the Tifton area and need help on the side of the road. Thank you for coming through in a pinch! -Alex

We were passing through Tifton on our way to Florida when our vehicle's engine light came on. Everyone at McKee's was so helpful - they shuttled my husband back to our hotel while we waited for the repairs to be completed, and they worked hard to get us back on the road as soon as possible. We were so thankful to have such a terrific repair center available when we needed one!

Darrell tries to run an honest shop here. I know it's difficult to find good help sometimes, but he does his best to please his customers! Our truck needed quite a bit of front-end work and he accommodated both our schedule and our wallets! Very friendly folks at McKee's. They'll even drive you where you need to go for the day while they work on your vehicle!

Great experience. Our company is based in Augusta GA. We do construction work all over the country and have to have our trucks repaired wherever we happen to be at the time. Most of the time its a gamble whether or not the repair shop will treat you fairly. Last Tuesday morning we had one of our trucks break down in Tifton GA. I Googled "mechanics" and saw McKee's listed. I read their reviews and decided to call. A nice lady answered and then put Von on the phone. I described the problem to him and he said that he could handle it. He sent his wrecker out immediately to get the truck (3500 Dodge dually). He had it fixed in a couple of days and the price of the tow and repair was very fair. When he told me the price I had to ask if that included the tow and he said yes. I hope that we never have vehicle trouble again, but if we do, I hope we are near Tifton.

Very thankful for their kindness! We were on our way from Florida to Indiana, and our vehicle started running poorly. Though it was a Sunday afternoon and they were only open for towing, he offered to run the code and even took it for a test drive with the code reader to make sure we could drive safely. He also turned on the tv in the waiting room for our kids to watch while waiting. Thank you, McKee's!

Our van overheated on our trip from Michigan to Florida, on a Sunday morning. McKee's towed the vehicle to their shop, took a look at it right away, and determined they wouldn't be able to get parts until Monday. They drove all four of us and our luggage to the rental car location 45 minutes away and helped us get back underway. They repaired the van and we picked it up on our way home later in the week. We made it back to Michigan, no troubles at all. Thanks McKee's for saving our vacation!

I would give them 0 stars if I could! Absolutely horrible service and customer service. The reason we used them is because my husband broke down in Tifton, the car was running hot, he called for a tow and they mentioned they fix cars too so we went with it to save money (we live in Sylvester and our usual repair shop is there but has recently shut down due to the owner dying). The receptionist was cussing at my husband and hanging up on him (how are you going to make any money from us if you won't even talk to us). When I stopped by to speak to them after work one day the manager or whoever walked out to talk to me and also walked in three other guys plus the receptionist that was already there as if they were told to go in for an audience ("witnesses"). I was trying to understand why it was still going to cost so much when our car ran hot for a second time and explained how expensive it was for me. He claimed he understood my concern but gave no options to me like working with me to maybe make payments or cutting some sort of deal. I walked out crying so embarrassed and stressed out. So after that they were just suppose to bring our car back home for us after throwing $800 down the drain. I put this review on here and because of that they decided not to return our car and didn't even notify us at all about it. My husband kept waiting for them to show up with it and finally he called them and they told him that they weren't going to bring it because of my review. We ended up having to get up the next Saturday morning after dealing with our 4 year old son throwing up all night and try to get our car back ourselves. They are completely impersonal, no respect whatsoever for their customers and total ripoffs! We just paid them almost $1000 dollars (which is almost 3 weeks paychecks for me, I am the only one able to work right now since my husband was in an accident a few months ago) just to fix a radiator and told them before they fixed it to please fix our vehicle before it blows a headgasket, they promised they would and it would be fine. A week and a half later only driving it 400 miles a head gasket blows and they won't take any responsibility for it and saying it'll cost hundreds more dollars. I will NEVER recommend anyone going to them!!They wrote back claiming that people do not take responsibility well you're exactly right. McKee's wouldn't take responsibility for their screw up. Our pontiac is a 2007. We have NEVER had problems with it until it left out of your shop. This car has only had to be in the shop less than a handful of times and it's never had to go directly back to the shop afterwards. We live in Sylvester which is about 20 miles from Tifton. My husband has to drive to tifton each morning for a doctor's appointment so that makes about 40 miles a day. 400 miles that you're claiming is a lot of miles is not very much. 40040= 10 days which is about the length of time we had it back and it messed up again. NO ONE expects to have to take their car back to the shop in that timeframe and if it does have to happen the customer would expect the shop to take responsibility or at least work out something with them for the inconvenience.

I was passing through Tifton on my way to Florida for vacation with my family. I had major car trouble, late on a Saturday. I contacted McKee's Saturday night, and they had me back on the road Sunday. They were the only shop that I could find that would help me on Sunday. Had it not been for them, who knows how long I would have been without a vehicle. McKee's Auto Center saved my family's vacation. After vacation, I drove the vehicle all the way back to Kentucky from Florida without an issue. Great work and customer service. I especially thank Von, he really stuck his neck out for me.

These guys really saved the day. Traveling from South Florida to north ga in a travel trailer with the family. Truck broke down and the whole shop seemed to stop what they were doing to take care of the issue. They even towed us to a campground nearby. Darrell and his team were amazing. I would drive out of my way to get here if I needed repairs again. Very reasonable pricing as well. Thanks again guys and gals!!!

On Friday, March 13, 2020 I was traveling to Florida and my right wheel bearing went out on my Suburban at mile marker 54 in Georgia. I wasn't sure what to do since cell service was limited so I dialed 911. Within 15 minutes John from Mckee's Auto arrived to tow us and he said that his boss, Von, was waiting at the shop to see if he could help us. I left my Suburban at the shop with no where to go. John said that him and his wife, Summer, would drive us to a motel. After taking us to a Quality Inn, in two vehicles they stayed in their vehicles until we checked into a room so that we would not have to carry the luggage. I was panicking because all dealers were closed until Monday. My wife and I tried to plan on renting a car the next morning but everything closed by noon. At 9:05a.m. Vonn called and said he was done and asked if he could pick me up and take him back to his shop. My wife and I fortunately made it to Florida and back to Ohio with no issues. I asked Vonn how he completed the work on my suburban in a timely matter and he stated that he got a call for a tow at 4:00 a.m. and he decided to start working on my Suburban instead of going back to bed just to get us back on the road. I've been fishing tournaments for the past 22 years and traveled the country and never seen or heard of a business like this going above and beyond my needs. If you have any doubts feel free to contact me. Thank you very much McKee's Auto and your staff for your service.Joe WhittenCurtice, [email protected]

This is a quality mechanic shop. I got stuck on the side of the road and they were able to get me in in little time. The front desk was very helpful, the mechanics found my issue quickly, and when my needed part would not arrive until the next day, they gave me a ride to a local hotel. Great people who do good work.

If I could give this place less than a single star, I would. Honestly, that's what they deserve. My commercial work van (Ford e-350) broke down on the side of the road while traveling from Orlando to Atlanta off i75. We called McKee's because of their high google rating. I have no idea how they managed to get this rating unless they exceptionally mistreated us. I will confess their towing service was alright. However, everything after the towing was a nightmare of an experience. We were personally promised by the owner that the repairs on my work van would be completed on the following Monday and available for pickup. This was a lie. My front left wheel bearing needed to replaced, a pretty simple fix, not a large engine malfunction. When I was ready to leave Atlanta, about 3 hours away from their shop, to pick up my car I called to ensure it would be ready. They then told me they had just ordered the parts and the repairs wouldn't be done until Tuesday. THIS IS A BIG DEAL. This is a COMMERCIAL VEHICLE. My personal livelihood, my family's livelihood, and my employees livelihoods depend on our ability to travel to work sites. With no other choice, I agreed to wait until Tuesday. When I called on Tuesday, they claimed they received the wrong parts and that they would personally go the autoparts store to pick up the correct parts and have it ready by Wednesday. ANOTHER WORK DAY LOST. When I called on Wednesday afternoon, they said they were WAITING ON THE AUTOPARTS STORE TO DELIVER OUR PARTS WHICH THEY CLAIMED THEY WOULD PICK UP THEMSELVES THE PREVIOUS NIGHT. If you're going to lie to a customer, atleast remember the bullshit you told them so you atleast appear to know what you're talking about. Then when I was trying to ask what was going on and explaining my situation to them, they have the nerve to tell me to pick up my car, have it towed elsewhere and have it fixed there after 3 days of delay. When I asked to speak to the owner, he told us the same thing at first then later guaranteed to have the job done by Thursday. On Thursday we picked up the van, within 2 miles on the highway, the left front bearing started wobbling again. We had to drive from Tifton to Atlanta at 50mph on i75 where it's suppose to be 70mph. That Friday, I took the same van to a local shop and we had to spend another 100 dollars for alignment and balance and was told we have to spend another 139 dollars to replace the ABS sensor. None of these things had problems before we went to the shop. We had no ABS sensor light on either, but the light came on after just 2 miles after we left their shop. Delays, lies, terrible customer service, terrible pricing that takes advantage of broken down vehicles in an area where service isn't readily available, and after all of that... we received our car back with more problems than we initially had given it. Steer clear of here. When we called other local shops, they told us they would have the job done by Monday as well. Just take your vehicle to any other smaller shop if you want the job done correctly.

I needed my head gasket replaced and went to McKees. After my car sat there for over a month and I paid them $2000 to fix it, I had to go back after a week because my car was leaking oil and they told me they didn't replace an oil cap they removed, which caused oil to spill on my engine. I assumed the burning rubber smell I kept smelling was from that but after some time I finally took it to another mechanic who told me they had not tightened bolts correctly and never replaced others that had been taken off to replace the head gasket, causing oil to continuously seep out onto my engine and burn while it was running. Stay away from McKees, they overcharge for a job less than halfway done.Service: Engine repair
