Terrible mechanics, Terrible experience, Terrible customer service! Don't recommend for a front end alignment or any type of work, not sure why my toe in had to be almost an inch...my guess would be because Shaun, the owner thinks everyone but him is an idiot. By far the rudest shop I've ever encountered. Had to take vehicle to big o tires and they laughed at the "professional " front end alignment by this shop!! There's a reason the same vehicles are always returning and not getting fixed correctly. It really is more of a vehicle graveyard than an automotive shop.

Scheduled an alignment and everything went smooth as can be. I probably would have paid just to hang out with the awesome shop dogs. As I was leaving, the shop owner stopped what he was doing to run to catch up to me. He let me know my power steering was leaking and since my fluid was all but empty he didn't drive it around much and wasn't certain the steering wheel was perfectly centered. Fixed the line and tested the steering and it is perfectly centered and drives great. Haven't had too many shop owners run after me to offer additional work if it isn't perfect.Service: Wheel alignment

Shawn did a great job on the transmission of my 2014 Jeep Compass. His customer service is lacking and he can be very rude. That is why I give him three stars but the work is good and the vehicle runs better then ever.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

This shop replaced my engine when my car was stuck in Leadville. Should have just towed it down to Denver. Mechanic had no idea how to properly work on a hybrid vehicle. He tried to remove a NONREMOVABLE wire harness from the transmission. Took it down to a Toyota dealership after their work and they told me since it was a nonrenewable part I would now need a new transmission. Thanks a lot "dependable auto repair." The Toyota mechanic secured the wiring as best he could but of course my car broke down in Florida not even a year later. Was told they offered a 1 year warranty but we're unreachable and unresponsive when my car was inspected by Toyota and when it broke down. Don't trust these people. AFTER RESPONSE - My engine was replaced in June of 2020. Picked up my car and it immediately overheated. The mechanic FORGOT TO PUT COOLANT IN THE ENGINE. Then on the way home I noticed the engine was a lot louder in the cabin so I took it straight to Toyota when I got home. "Dependable Auto" didn't reinstall a boot around the steering column correctly. During this fix the Toyota mechanic noticed the wire harness was improperly removed. At this time I called you to inform you that I needed a new transmission but you refused to replace it if it was still operating. Then in March of 2021 my car broke down in Florida. I called and left a voicemail with no response. Then all of my later calls were ignored.

EDITED PER OWNER REPLY: The managers get credit for at least replying BUT, the contempt shown by the phone associate is the far worse problem. I note no apology in regards to that. Also, every repair can show more damage, and every estimate includes clauses in regards to hidden damages. And the policy itself is aimed at your BUSINESSES NOT YOUR CUSTOMERS convenience. You are just trying to avoid a difficult conversation every mechanic has to have about concealed damage. Your choice to lose this job, but that angry attitude is what lost you a customer and prompted this lengthy but articulate review. Hollow talk of service i say. Save the platitude and teach your staff how to courteously address your self interested policy. ORIGINAL REVIEW. Awful. Called and asked for pricing on an alignment and they said that they couldnt tell me. Call for yourself and see. Just awful. Was completely willing to give all information needed. For the record, you can get an alignment for around $150 bucks (I paid $109 elsewhere) pretty much anywhere. Some places charge more for large vehicles or 4 wheel drive, but cmon. This is basic pricing. What is the point of even answering the phone? And i get not knowing pricing, but the lady answering the phone has an inexcusable attitude. If you cant be trusted to give a fair estimates and pricing, you have absolutely no business servicing vehicles on this mountain. If you have a minute call them up and try to price an alignment yourself. Or never call them at all.

DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!! I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!! I would have given 0 stars if possible! Sean worked on my brothers car and there are still problems! If you want to be up charged on hours this is the place for you! If you want to be talked to like a dog and have someone be short with you about questions and concerns you have for what you re paying for this is the shop for you!!! SEAN CHARGED US OVER $1000 for labor cost and still didn t fix the car. My brother couldn t make it out of his lot without the car breaking down, but supposably he worked on the car for over 10 hours???? But couldn t seem to fix the problem. And then charged us extra for a part he seemed to miss the first time around! So if you want to be overcharged and receive 0 results this is the place for you!! AGAIN AVOID THIS SHOP.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

My suv broke down and had to be towed into Dependable. I expected the worst, but Shaun and his guys had it fixed like new the next day. I was pleasantly shocked! They were fast, professional, and very fairly priced. Thank you to them for making the best of a bad situation. This business is great!

Our twin turbos went out on our deisel truck. Shaun and his guys quickly got to work on it and the service was excellent.We are very happy with his work. We highly recommend Dependable.

Sean over charged me $200 on an engine swap. Then proceeded to scream at me saying it was an accident and that he's not sending the money back that he over charged. The rudest mechanic. Swapped a used engine with 145,000 miles and sent it back twice to get the check engine light off after paying almost 6,000. Worst shop.ended up taking it to another mechanic to fix his mess.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Shaun is a fantastic mechanic who got us back home safely. He stayed open late and got our serpentine belt replaced so we could get back to Fort Collins. He checked out the pulleys and tensioner and gave everything else a clean bill of health - just a worn out belt. While on a road trip out west, we made a mistake and drove our F-350 over Mosquito Pass. Along the very rocky way we developed a coolant leak but were able to limp into Leadville. I called first thing in the morning and Shaun told me he d try to get to it in the afternoon. They called at about 4:15 and said the truck was fixed! They replaced the radiator and we were off on another adventure. Thanks folks, you re the best.Service: Auto water leak repair

This was my first time using a local garage to fix my car. My rear tire was squeaking and I thought I needed new brakes. Well, they told me they took apart the tire and a bunch of rocks fell out. And that was it. So, this review isn't about their work quality since I didn't use those services, but it's about something equally important: trust. They could have easily taken advantage and talked me into getting new brake pads, but they didn't. One of the most important factors in choosing an auto repair service is trust. Trust that they won't try to take advantage of you when they can. Well, they could have today, but they didn't, so I will be taking my business to them from now on.Services: Tires, Brakes

I was camping in the area and woke up to a dangerously low truck tire. I limped into town and in about 20 minutes Shaun and Sean had me rolling down the road.I had a screw in my tire. Sean had it off the vehicle, in the shop and plugged in a matter of minutes. They saved my camping weekend for a very reasonable price.I highly recommend these guys. I was traveling through and in major need of an alignment and stopped in less than an hour before closing. The timing was great because they were just wrapping up another customer and so were able to get me taken care of. They did a terrific job, were super nice and professional and did not charge me an arm and a leg, which earned my trust and respect. Thank you!

I am from Louisiana and my pickup truck had to be towed into this place with a broken tie rod. It s has been my experience that out of towners are at the mercy of auto shops in these situations. NOT SO HERE!!! These people were the most professional, friendly and helpful people I could have asked for. They got my truck in and out while charging me a very fair price. I would recommend them to anyone. Wish I had them in my home town. Can t say enough good about them. Thank you!!

I've lived in Leadville for quite some time now, and I was referred to this small business from word of mouth since I needed new brakes along with a caliper replacement. All I can say is that I am thoroughly impressed with the service, fair pricing and overall expectations set forth. Even though I dropped/picked up my car before/after hours (which was arranged easily), and didn t officially meet anyone in person, Kathleen was extremely accommodating and was great to work with over the phone. Everything was executed on point and in a timely fashion. I will certainly be returning. Thank you dependable! You truly made a stressful situation very manageable in the end.

They saved us. We had an awning problem with our RV that didn t allow us to drive far. They took us in right away and removed the awning for us. We were able to continue on our trip. I had some major repairs done here. I called back to get some advice on vehicle as it was running hot and didn't seem to be getting gas. Right away Sean became very defensive and rude saying that it wasn't his fault. I never blamed him for the issues I was having, I just wanted some advice then he told me to take it somewhere else. I don't understand what I did wrong. Sean, if you don't want my business I will have to get repairs done in Summit County. I was just hoping to find a trusted and reliable mechanic here in Leadville where I live. Yes Sean I had timing belt, waterpump replaced. Really Sean? This was my third visit to your shop. It's funny that every time someone has an issue with your repairs that you can't find the records.I am not giving you any more of my money
