Exceptional doesn't even begin to describe our experience at the exquisite hotel in San Simeon, CA. Julian one of the the managers from the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in luxury and hospitality that surpassed all expectations. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect. Their warmth and attentiveness made us feel like VIPs from check-in to check-out. Their dedication to guest satisfaction was truly remarkable. The amenities at the hotel were second to none. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to enhance our stay and create lasting memories. Overall, our time The Morgan Hotel was nothing short of extraordinary. It's a rare gem that seamlessly combines luxury, hospitality, and breathtaking natural beauty. We can't wait to return and experience its magic once again.

The Morgan never disappoints. I ve stayed here on numerous occasions and every time I ve been very pleased wither their services and facilities. I had a lovely 1 night stay here this weekend. We had a beautiful room on the top story (in their second building). It was clean, spacious, and had a gorgeous view of the rolling hillsides. The room was fully equipped with everything I needed coffee machine, mini fridge the usual. The front desk receptionist was extremely kind and accommodating. I paged him several times asking for cups, help with programming the TV etc. and he was so kind to come over to my room to resupply me with what was missing. Some minor flaws were that the TV was difficult to navigate and that the building we stayed at (separate from the main hotel) doesn t have hot water for tea, a coffee machine, or paper cups. You have to walk all the way to the main building to get them. But overall, the Morgan is a lovely hotel and definitely worth the value. Will surely come back in the future!

The Morgan was the perfect place for our stop on the coast to visit Hearst Castle. It's a bit older but charming. The employees were helpful and welcoming. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast (bagels, muffins and croissants, fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast, waffles, hard boiled eggs) was perfect to grab before heading out in the morning. And they allow dogs! Also loved the historic photos of Hearst Castle in the hallways and rooms. Great value for the price. Would definitely stay there again!Rooms: Spacious and comfortable bedsNearby activities: Less than 10 minutes from Hearst Castle

Very clean and breakfast is free! Shower is great- warms fast and water pressure is good. Everything is nice except for a smell of smoke when we left the window open. Bed is quite squeaky but clean.Noteworthy details: Very close to Hearst Castle and Seal VIsta Point.

I think The Morgan Hotel is a 3-star hotel. It is perhaps a slightly aging celebrity, but the rooms are comfortably outfitted, the atmosphere is super pleasant, they have a heated pool even in winter, there is apparently accommodation for pet boarding well there, and the service is excellent. I give a particular nod to the night desk man, who provided outstanding service to myself and clearly to other patrons. Visit the Morgan for an economical comfortable stay at a location where you can feel at home.Noteworthy details: Again, the staff is excellent.

Older hotel but it has a lot of charm. Close enough to walk to the beach. We even got an upgraded room upon arrival thanks to John. Hearst Castle decor was creative. Beds were very comfortable and loved listening to the frogs and ocean waves crashing in the distance out our window. The fireplace in the room was also a nice touch. Close proximity to Big Sur and Cambria. We would stay here again if in the area.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and dissatisfaction with my recent stay at The Morgan Hotel San Simeon. Despite its prime location, the hotel failed to meet even the most basic standards of cleanliness, comfort, and customer service. The room was outdated, with worn-out furniture, a creaky bed, and a shower with poor water pressure. The lack of modern amenities, such as a functional coffee maker and adequate USB ports, was also noticeable. However, the most appalling aspect of our stay was the service. The front desk staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, failing to address our concerns in a timely and professional manner. Our room was not cleaned properly, and we were met with an attitude when requesting extra towels. In conclusion, The Morgan Hotel San Simeon fell far short of our expectations. We will not be returning and strongly advise others to consider alternative accommodations in the area.

The Morgan Hotel in San Simeon is a lovely place. It s named after Julia Morgan, the architect of Hearst Castle and every room and the lobby has designs of her work. This is one of the closest lodgings near Hearst Castle and definitely one of the best. It s in close proximity to the elephant seal vista point and the town of Cambria. They provide warm breakfast in the mornings and coffee/tea is available all day long at the lounge area. They have a refrigerator in the rooms but no microwave. There is a communal microwave in the lounge area. All in all, we had a great stay here and recommend this place to any one visiting.

This is our second time staying here at The Morgan and our only regret is not being able to stay longer! Besides the boutique feel and comfy beds, the location is perfectly situated on the coast for a ton of activities. We had some complications arise but Briseida from the front desk could not have been more helpful, polite or kind!!! We checked in last night with Julian and he was also as kind and generous! We will never stay anywhere else!!!Rooms: LOVE the fireplace!!Food & drinks: Kids love the continental breakfast! Tons of variety and all delicious!

Rooms 1 star1) No AC in the room. At night we started sweating profusely and when called reception we were told to open the windows. I don't know how safe it is to keep windows open in the middle of nowhere2) Beds were squeaky and not comfortable.Service 1 star because breakfast was not good. In the name of hot breakfast, all they have is waffles, bread, boiled egg, milk and cereals. Worst part is even coffee is cold.Location is 1 star not because of any fault of the hotel. Unfortunately the road to the hotel is closed due to some maintenance after big sur. So we have to drive extra 3 hours to reach the hotel.Paying 150$ + per night for this room was a very bad idea.

Loved this hotel. So cute with a fireplace. Checkin was pleasant and welcoming. This is close by everything for trailing, hiking, fishing, sauntering. San Simeon is a hidden gem and I def recommend staying here.Noteworthy details: Walk around the area behind the Cavalier Hotel. - Next morning drive 12 more miles to Ragged Point - be mind blown at its beauty :) elephant seals, elk, zebras might be spotted on the way.

Customer service was lacking. Heater was not working in the room, told front desk, who stated hotel was fully booked and we could not switch rooms. Offered 20% discount, which they did not honor at checkout, stating that we had a pre-paid reservation. Got our information and stated a manager will call us back, which never happened. Sent an email to the hotel the day of checkout, with no response.Only positive was the location of the Hotel.Rooms: Heater not working

I have stayed here twice now and would come back.Very well priced for the location and size of the rooms. I have had a room with a fireplace on both stays but this time we got a room with a large bath and sea view. You cannot walk out to the beach from the hotel but from the second building you can a less obstructed view out to the sea and bigger windows (from what I can tell). The continental breakfast was not super appealing so I passed on both my stays. If you are looking for somewhere quiet and clean to spend the night in the Cambria/San Simeon area look no further! I have previously stayed in moreexpensive hotels in Cambria and the only upside was walking right onto the beach, the rooms here were nicer and had better amenities.

The rooms were very nice. There were drawings of the Hearst Castle all over the hotel. The pool was very cute. Not quite as large as the photos show, but nice enough. And there was a fireplace which was an unexpected surprise. The continental breakfast was okay. The coffee was very meh, but it's there and plentiful. And they provide a water fountain in the lobby, which is very helpful.Moonstone Beach Drive is very close and was a really nice walk along the shore. Hearst Castle is nearby as well as Elephant Seal Vista Point. Both are worth a visit.

The two queen bedroom with partial ocean view and fireplace was great! The trip was to go to Hearst Castle so it was convenient for the cost of two adults and two children to sleep at.Rooms: The rooms were the two queen size bed was great for the the size of the room.Nearby activities: Hearst castle visitor center is 5 min away driving.Walkability: Besides the restaurant next doorm there are no shopping options nearby within walking distance.Food & drinks: The Mexican restaurant next door is a bit pricey but I guess we pay for the convenience.

Decent budget hotel. We stayed here to be in proximity to the Hearst Castle and to then embark on the Highway 1 journey up north.Rooms were decent. We took the double queen room for the 4 of us. Bed wasn't the most comfortable but was okay. Heater was working as expected.I wish they had a wash basin in the room, so that we didn't have to go to the bathroom all the time. It would also enable us to get ready quickly.Overall, my stay was pleasant.

Husband and I stayed for 2 nights and got an ocean view room and waking up to see the ocean was just awesome. Beautiful sunsets too. Room was clean and big. If you had any questions during your stay the front desk saw to it that all your questions were answered. Will book again soon!Nearby activities: walking distance to the beach and liquor store and lots of restaurants near by as well
