I've been a customer of Folsom Auto Tech for over a decade, and I haven't found a more competent, transparent and effective service for my vehicles than Jim & Ron's. My plan is to continue doing business here for as long as they are available.

I received top notch service with Folsom Autotech. We were greeted warmly immediately by staff member Ron. An indicator light came on my dashboard and didn t know what it meant. Folsom Autotech rest assured me that they would look into what the problem was. They ran diagnostic tests and couldn t find anything wrong with it. I was relieved of course. This was my first time here as my warranty had just ran out and I was looking for a new mechanic. After this great experience, I will be back. My husband said he ll be bringing his truck here in the future as well. Thank you Folsom Autotech!

This place is amazing. I really wish I would've tried this place before the other guys. Took my car to 3 other big name car repair places each claiming a different reason for why they couldn't help me. One even saying that the item I need is special order only and can only be procured through a dealer. False. I simply needed a battery change...Took Folsom Auto 30 minutes to complete. Not only that, I payed about half what the other guys wanted to charge.

I've had the pleasure of working with Jim through a glorious display of obstacles to getting my Dodge Caravan transmission replaced via warranty. When a third party is involved, Jim keeps everyone in the loop.

Earlier this year, I had my catalytic convertor stolen on one of my vehicles and wanted to try to do something to hopefully prevent it from happening again. Recently, I learned about a City of Folsom Police Department and local autoshop cooperative effort called The Etch and Catch Program designed to etch/mark your vehicle's catalytic converter with your license plate ID to make it less desirable to target, steal, and recycle. Folsom Autotech is one of several local shops participating in the program. It is free of charge and is something I encourage you all to have done on your post-1975 cars with cats. I called them up to inquire and they were able to get in two of my vehicles; a 1986 VW Vanagon Syncro 4WD and a 1982 VW Vanagon L Campmobile later that day. I was pleased as all get out that they were able to fit me in so quickly. Front office staff and mechanics were very friendly and customer service oriented and I was in-n-out in less than an hour for both of my vans; Wow! Their service prices were shown on a digital marquee board in the front office-waiting area and they appear to be quite reasonable. Also, they have some really cool historic photos of Folsom from "back in the day" that are fun to check out. Will definitely use Folsom Autotech again for future auto repair work and you should consider them too!

I brought my vehicle here to have the A/C system replaced in 2021. Every since they worked on my vehicle I have had non-stop problems with my A/C. I've had to bring my truck back several times because of errors they made. They assured me that if I had more A/C issues, that they would be willing to fix it because they were aware A/C units are only utilized certain times of the year and it would be hard to gauge the problem in a short period of time after each fix. I am experiencing more A/C problems again, so I went in there today to have them look at it and they refused to work on my vehicle because they said it's outside of the warranty. But they never fixed it right in the first place. The owners and employees are very cocky and rude. They basically stole $2300.00 from me. The parts and labor are extremely overpriced. I suggest you do not get your vehicle fixed here, or you'll be dealing with cocky men that have no moral compass, as well as they are willing to make money at your expense.

My wife s car suddenly was losing power and couldn t drive it. We had it towed to Folsom and Autotech where they found the problem and fixed it immediately. Jim and his crew were awesome as I was out of town and could not handle everything. They stayed in touch with my wife throughout the process I am very grateful for their support. Would highly recommend going there for any and all maintenance or issues.Service: Electrical

We brought our 2003 SUV in for a new ac compressor install need in diagnosis from another mechanic. Folsom Autotech called and said no compressor needed, just a serpentine bent tightening. Honest mechanics are the best. Based on this we'll be going back when service is needed!

I was in a pinch, needing a smog immediately. Gave them a call, and even though they are by appointment only, they told me to come on by. Smog was very affordable compared to what some places charge. Will likely be going back to these guys, I'll be sure to make an appointment next time!

Above and well beyond what they had to. Truly very thankful for Jim and the rest of the associates. From a nightmare of a problem with my warranty company, Jim and Folsom Autotech stepped in to save the day in a way they really didn't have to at all and were not required to. I highly recommend using the group over here even if it is a bit of a drive for you. They are very quick and efficient and they do care about you as a customer which is becoming more and more rare these days. I'm new to the area in search of a mechanic. This place was the closest to my home so I thought I'd give them a try. Good prices. After dropping my vehicle off for service. I returned to pickup and was literally greeted with "what?!" from the guy behind the counter.Went back about a year later and spoke with the same guy. Was like night and day. Had my 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander GT's A/C fixed here today. Had the new compressor/clutch already, but my husband had to go out of town and work the day after it showed up, so I took it here to have them put it in. The cost was reasonable, they were friendly and helpful, did it in a day, used my part and now I have icy cold A/C in my car again. I scheduled an appointment less than a week from the day I walked in. This is the only repair I have had done there, but they seem good and based on this experience I will go there again.Service: A/C system repair

Great service very professional!As an owner of a service company, it's great to see Folsom AutoTec has things dialed in like: being very organized, clean surroundings/uniforms and taking the time to explain things thoroughly. I brought my truck on for oil seal leaks that my mechanic mentioned I needed and Folsom AutoTec informed me that it wasn't needed. Made a appointment for my dodge 2500 diesel to be smog tested. The customer service was OUT STANDING, the test was completed in a timely manner. I would refer my friends to this business.

An honest auto repair place? Is there such a thing? Just kidding....kind of. But these guys are great and now I m not kidding. They keep our cars running without it costing an arm and leg.We have two 2005 models so they are not the newest vehicles on the road. But we would rather not replace them if we don t have to. So we rely on them and they come through. They get our cars in quickly, diagnose the problems and get us estimates. Then they correctly fix the vehicle. They are very nice guys and easy to get along with. What more could we want?If you re fed up with getting ripped off on car repairs and not sure if your repair shop is honest with you, this is the place to go to.

I really love this shop. I've been coming here for about 10 years. The people are friendly and make you feel welcomed. I can say, they are an honest shop. They won't sell you on something that you don't need. Also, I like the convenience of their shuttle service. This is a family shop, passed down from father to son. Still today, the son, Jim, is still running the shop, with the same values as his dad. All the mechanics are very knowledgeable and have the skills of doctors for your car or truck. The rates are reasonable. In a nutshell, they have earned my trust in every facet of their supreme business.

I had issues with my 2016 Toyota Tundra 2 other shops couldn't locate but happily charged me for. I went into this appointment with broken confidence of all mechanic shops but within 2 hours of dropping off, I had an answer. What a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. All issues resolved and extra maintenance taken care of, my truck is driving like it had the day I got it. Went in for Smog testing. Very helpful and friendly staff. Seemed genuinely interested in helping me get my car smogged and working. Out the door cost was pretty much the same rate as other Folsom shops, but it was next door to me.
