Need 4 wheel drive to get on beach. Nice peaceful place to walk on sandy and pebble Beach. Some fishermen and nets in the water and tons of eagles. Great beach and some driftwood for fire.

I love the Clam Gulch beach, and this campground has a beautiful view of it. Perfect for watching those late night/real early morning summertime sunsets. It is great for casual beach walks and agate hunting. Be mindful of commercial setnetters during the Cook Inlet salmon fishing season; stay out of their way for both your safety and for the livelihood of the hard-working locals! I've lived on the Kenai Penisula my whole life, and the Clam Gulch beach has gifted me some of the most incredible take-your-breath-away sunsets I've ever seen.

Must be my kind of day! I wish anyway, doubt itll get as good as i wish it could being back down this way again. Its been a long while. Brings back good memories of what i miss most :..)But its peacful here, me and wooly are keeping fairly warm during our camp, we try when we have to. For those of you who dont know Wooly is my Ferret and he is 4 years old :). Its not crowded at all here, no doubt cause of the salmon festival going on in ninilchick. On my way there to help get it on the map ;).Its another great place to get away with family, friends or pets. Is fairly remote so be watchful for bears if you have open food containers. Public restrooms are cleaner than you usually find so thats good. Lots of trees, three camp areas an open play area thats fairly enclosed. Id still be vigilent about kids and pets if you have them roaming while theres not many people here. Coyotes are known to be in this area too. But their usually not a problem so enjoy yourself and come check it out one day or two or more lol. Especially in the summer. When you enter here keep to the right do not go down the left road before reading the warning marker ive posted on it! Its a fangerous road if youve never had a taste of navigating it, especially on the way back up backwards if your not gonna risk getying stuck on the beach below. Should be ok to launch skiffs at high tide but take it slow and you cant park on the road so backwards down is recommended in my own personal opinion. At least, thats what i would do if i was me lol,!

It's an ok spot, game wardens were kinda annoying on their offroad vehicle and the podunks on the beach weren't friendly but you get that. Decent for rock hounding, good variety down there.

Restrooms are clean but the good camp spots were taken up early and we got there noon on Friday. The ones that were left were sloped and small and NOT private. The proximity of beach is great though.

Beautiful beach. My kids loved it. They played in the sand, found beach rocks, found sea shells. Easy access. Will definitely be coming here again.

This is not a real campground. Just a loop of over 100 parking spots with numbers. We stayed for day use. There is a great small creek and sand for the kids to play in at the bottom of the hill before you get to the water. You can drive down the hill if you have 4x4 but we walked. Steep walk back up. Be respectful to the dip netters setting up their nets on the sand. Also, there are no clams here. They re all gone. They dug them all up.

We enjoyed our stay here a lot - roomy, quiet, beautiful location - but it's not clear if it will stay that way, or what the future holds for it. Here's why: there are 100 or so campsites, one right next to another. That was to accommodate people who came to dig clams. But the clams are gone, and now the place is often(?) empty. The camp host told us, and the few others who came, to park anywhere we wanted - across several campsites, for example (to be more level), was fine.It would be better if Alaska State Parks reconfigured this into fewer, more spacious campsites - but who knows what the future holds? For now - go and enjoy!

Restrooms and trails at the top.If you have 4 wheel drive head down to the beach in your vehicle. You see two giant boulders with the waves lapping around them. Watching from the top could be an eagle or a flock of seagulls and off on the horizon filling the backdrop....a snow tipped Redoubt Volcano!Do beware of eagles as there are at least two resident eagles and a hawk. Watch small pets closely.Sandy beach when the tide is out and lots of washed up sea polished rocks along the high tide line.Beautiful.Why not pack a lunch and bring a camera? If you're lucky you may find an intact shell or some seaglass.

No frills primitive campsite. No services at all. Vault toilets and a single water spigot. $20 a night

This has always been a favorite stopping off place for myself and my family! There are many things to do here. We spent 3 days digging clams drinking beer and camping out in our motorhome. My kids have never dug clams before they were a little apprehensive at first! After the first clam though my wife and I couldn't keep them out of the mud flats!! It was hilarious watching them laying on the ground reaching into the clam hole like they were grabbing a huge piece of gold! Anyhow we had a blast and do reccomend for everyone to give it a try especially if you like clams!

We were able to park down at the beach in our car, the sand was hard enough. It was very nice and clean and the waterfall was beautiful!

Beautiful quaint State Park. There is a huge rock that sets out in the water right in front of the beach. On clear days you can see the mountains.

Gorgeous spot for a picnic. You can either walk down or take a 4 wheel drive vehicle onto the beach.

The park was ok. Restroom was locked I talked to a state worker about the issue she said they only keep one open due to the cut backs.
