Perfect place to stay if visiting to Denali National Park. Nice, clean and cozy rooms. Host is very welcoming. Early morning breakfast are delicious, some of them are home cooked. I loved the banana bread and quiche.Nearby activities: Denali National Park, Denali Highway

About 30 min drive to Danali. Was nice to be away from crowd. Nothing within walking distance which was fine for me and husband. Room was a little small but clean and comfortable bed. Had wifi and Roku TV. Had excellent breakfast buffet included which was a pleasant surprise and very good with homemade quiche. Also had waffles, fruit and yogurt, lots of baked goods, cereal and oatmeal. Owner very friendly and accomadating.

Cynthia and Norm were the best!! Cynthia went out of her way to provide great service while we were there. Norm cooked dinner for us both nights and each time the food was excellent (there were four of us). The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the continental breakfast was the best I've seen. There was such a variety of food, beverages, etc. It was so convenient to have the restaurant/bar attached to the rooms. There was a pool table and other games which was so much fun. One night there were two locals that brought in their guitars and played and sang. I highly recommend Cantwell Lodge.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. The room we were in had a door to outside and into the lodge which was nice. Amazing view from our room also. Dinner was great and also they know how to cook a steak. The breakfast had a good variety of items to choose from. The staff was very nice and helpful. Will definitely be coming back for weekend getaways in the future.

Service was great and the staff friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Good place to stay. Not far off the highway, and fairly close to Denali NP, give or take about 30 miles or so. Restaurant food is good and reasonably priced. The room we stayed in had a small fridge, which helped. Rooms can be accessed from inside the building or outside. Only down side is that a train came by at 2 am, but that's nothing to concerned about. Otherwise, it was very quiet.

Very much enjoyed our stay in Cantwell at the Cantwell Lodge. We happened to stay at a slow time and had the whole place to ourselves, but the staff made us feel right at home. They even laid out the entire Continental breakfast "buffet" of itmes for us to select from (including a nice selection of bagels and BRAND NAME Pop-Tarts, which stole the whole show) despite having no other guests to serve.There is also a decently sized bar on-site with a good selection of liquor, plus a kitchen that made what appeared to be very good food with large portions (I spied on someone else eating while I sampled whiskeys, so I can't say for sure).Would definitely stay at Cantwell Lodge again in the future, and will show up hungry next time.

Highly recommend the Cantwell Lodge! Cynthia and Kevin went above and beyond to make our stay special. Great dinner from the Longhorn saloon and a solid selection of breakfast items in the morning. Our room was perfect for winter, cozy with a great bed. Thank you!

The most local place I think in Cantwell. I really enjoyed just being there.. and stepping outside at 4am for the aurora. I do think the 9am checkout time to be a little harsh but other than that an authentic Alaska stay or if your from Alaska a 'regular' stay place. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Will definitely stay here again.

Our group of 5 enjoyed the stay here, clean rooms, comfy beds, and really friendly staff. Walls are a bit thin so I guess it's just luck on who you get as your neighbors re: how quiet your night will be :) thanks for the great stay and taco Tuesday.

This lodge has since remodeled their rooms and they are wonderful!! My significant and I stayed here for the night and we were the only ones in the lodge that night. It was honestly really nice and calm. The train went by at 12:30 am but we didn t mind since it was honestly really cool. Cheryl was a nice person who greeted us in once we arrived. It was a great stay!

We stumbled upon this joint when looking for something open in the area for dinner. Mid -September can be a challenge here. Parking lot was sparse so I have to say I was a bit skeptical. Boy was I wrong. This place is filled with real Alaskans- not scripted for TV. Super nice , excellent conversation and a steak dinner for $19 that was fantastic- fresh salad, perfectly cooked steak and awesome homemade chili. Heard the burgers are what people come back for- will have to try that next time. I would stay there too, but we already had a place. They make you feel like home. Play some pool, sit at the bar, chat with anyone there- you won t regret your stop.

One of the best places we stayed in Alaska. Incredible host. Good food. Great bed. Would highly recommend. Breakfast included is the icing on the cake!

Cynthia at Cantwell Lodge went above and beyond in helping me with my reservation after a number of changes to our flights and a mistake on my part with the booking dates. She was so helpful, understanding and readily available, even with the 3hr time difference prior to arrival.When we finally did arrive we were so dog tired and our stay was only one night, but Cynthia and staff were so friendly and accomodating that we couldn't help but smile and gain some energy from their kind energy. The added convenience of a bar with food being at the location and the closeness to Denali made this a no brainer in terms of a stay. The room was just perfect but the kindness of Cynthia is what put it over the top.

Stopped by Longhorn Saloon on a whim and couldn t be more glad that we did. Cheryl was so friendly, kind, and made the experience great! The environment was nice and they had neat decor. Would definitely recommend stopping by and visiting Cheryl.

Cute, cozy place. Owner is lovely, very friendly and helpful. The place has delicious home style food. We liked it so much we stopped twice, both on the way to Anchorage from Fairbanks and back!

We stayed 2 nights. 30 miles from Denali National Park. Rooms are recently remodeled and tastefully decorated. Bathroom was bigger than most and very new. Beds very comfortable. Restaurant and bar are part of the property. Food was good. Not fancy. I would stay here again.

I stayed here in October and it was amazing! We loved the bar attached and enjoyed the free library as well. Highly recommend and will probably come back!

From outside, I thought it might not be so good...However, when I went into the actual room, the bedroom and restroom were all remodeled and looked very clean. Had great stay before heading back to Anchorage. Close to Denali where lodging is more expensive than here. I would stay here again.

Great place for quick food in a land where food is hard to come by. Pleasant staff. A bit expensive but there's not much at all to choose from in the area when everything else is closed for the season. Spectacularly beautiful views from deck. Would be a great place to eat outdoors in warmer weather.
